What is the Hanukkah Coffee Box?

The Hanukkah Coffee Box is a limited edition coffee experience featuring 8 different coffees from 8 different roasteries, one for each night of Hanukkah. Each box contains carefully curated lighter roasted coffees from specialty roasters across the United States.

Do I have to be Jewish to order?

No! The box is Hanukkah themed, but you don’t have to be Jewish to enjoy it. Anyone who appreciates discovering new light roasts and specialty coffee will love this experience.

What’s the difference between the Classic and Deluxe boxes?

Both boxes contain the exact same 8 exceptional coffees. The difference is in the packaging:

Classic Box: Ships in our custom Hanukkah Coffee Box (cardboard)
Deluxe Box: Comes in a premium, reusable Japanese Trusco toolbox that you can use for coffee gear or anything else after Hanukkah

Sizing & Contents

What size should I choose?

We offer two sizes:

40g per coffee - Perfect for:

2-3 cups of brewed coffee per day
Pulling 2 espresso shots

60g per coffee - Ideal for:

Dialing in your grinder with one shot, then pulling 2-3 shots
Making 3-4 cups of brewed coffee per day

Can I get the coffee pre-ground?

No. We believe that coffee tastes much better when it is freshly ground, so we only ship whole beans.

Ordering & Shipping

When will my box ship?

Boxes ship in early December to arrive before Hanukkah begins.

Where do you ship?

We ship within the continental United States.

Why is shipping so expensive?

We understand shipping costs can be surprising. Last year, many customers were caught off guard by the shipping price at checkout.

This year, we’re offering flat rate shipping at $24 for anywhere in the continental US. This means you’ll know exactly what you’re spending upfront - no surprises.

We know $24 seems high when many things ship for free with Prime or for $10-12 elsewhere. However, the combination of weight and especially the size of the box means this is the best, most reliably priced way to ship. The box dimensions and coffee weight push us into higher shipping tiers with carriers, and flat rate shipping ensures you get predictable pricing regardless of your location.

What’s your return policy?

All sales are final. We carefully package and quality-check each box before shipping, but if there’s an issue with your order, please contact us.

The Coffee Experience

Can I see the coffees before ordering?

No - and that’s intentional! The coffees are kept secret until each day of Hanukkah. This is part of the experience - discovering each coffee without preconceptions. Tasting notes, roastery information, and stories will be revealed on this website each day during Hanukkah.

How do I prepare the coffee?

All these coffees work great as pour over or brewed coffee.

For espresso, we generally recommend starting with a 1:2 ratio (20g in for a 40g out pull) for most of the coffees. Specific brewing recommendations for each coffee will be posted on the website on the corresponding day.

Why lighter roasted coffees?

We focus on lighter roasts to honor Hanukkah as the Festival of Lights. Lighter roasts also tend to highlight the unique characteristics and terroir of each coffee origin.

Why is it so expensive?

We provide generous portions - 60g per bag in our standard offering (40g in the more affordable option). Why? Because we want to allow for one shot to dial in the grind and then two shots for pulling and drinking. Other coffee boxes often include less than 40g per coffee.

Additionally, many of these coffees feature interesting processing methods (like anaerobic fermentation, koji processing, or honey processing) that cost more to produce but create exceptional flavor profiles.
